Position – Fire Inspector III
Employment Status – Full-time (40 hours per week)
Salary – $39,057 – 58,586 DOQ
Clinton, approximate pop 8700 Rich in beauty and tradition. Centrally located near Raleigh, Wilmington, Goldsboro and the Fayetteville areas. Seeking an individual with the technical. and administrative experience in performing and teaching fire inspection techniques/duties for commercial, industrial, retail, schools, and health care facilities, fire prevention and education. Candidate will Interpret federal, state, and local fire laws, codes, rules and regulations. Candidate will have a working knowledge of OSHA regulations. Ability to review site plans. High level of professional ethics and integrity. Ability to work effectively and coordinate objectives with Fire Marshall, city officials, and other responsible parties in a professional manner. Candidate will attend lectures and training. Candidate will assist staff with daily firefighting operations. Prepares monthly and annual reports. Candidate shall communicate well in written and oral form with governmental leaders, business managers, general public and other city staff. Position requires: Successfully completed high school and fire inspection and prevention schools in the fire service and/or fire inspections; or five (5) years equivalent combination of experience in inspections and administration. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age and possess a valid NC Class B Driver’s License. Certified as a Level III Fire Inspector (or ability to obtain within one year of hire), NC Level II Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Operations Level, and NIMS 100,200,700,800.
