Fire Captain I or II

Salary/Pay Rate: $43,284 – $66,991 annually plus excellent benefits

Performs difficult protective work in fire suppression. Serves as company supervisor, overseeing station and

equipment maintenance and maintaining records and reports. Acts as interior attack officer during fires and

Minimum Qualifications

Fire Captain I

• Combination education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and six years’ experience in

the fire service and some supervisory experience;

• Valid Class B driver’s license and good driving record;

• Probationary Fire Prevention Level II certificate;

• Fire Service Instructor Certification;

• Minimum three years as Fire Sergeant II.

Fire Captain II

• Combination education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and ten years’ experience in

the fire service and some supervisory experience;

• Valid Class B driver’s license and good driving record;

• Supervision or Command Certificate or equivalent;

• Minimum three years as Fire Captain I.

Work Environment

Modified 24/48 Schedule. Paid bi-weekly.
