Captain Doug Bissette Inducted as 100th President of the North Carolina State Firefighters’ Association

Captain Doug Bissette of the Pinetown Volunteer Fire Department was inducted as the 100th President of the North Carolina State Firefighters’ Association during the Association’s 139th Annual Meeting, held last week in conjunction with the South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Expo in Raleigh.

As president, Bissette will lead the Association under his theme for the year, “Attitude Reflects Leadership.” The theme reflects his belief that effective leadership begins with the right attitude and that the examples set by today’s leaders and mentors will shape the next generation and help move the fire service into the future.

Bissette’s lifelong passion for the fire service has guided him throughout his life and career. His commitment to serving others is a calling he shares with his family and has proudly passed along to his son, Keegan.

Throughout his term, Bissette will draw upon his experience, dedication, and commitment to the fire service as he leads the Association and represents firefighters across North Carolina.
