Kernersville Fire & Rescue Chief Announcement.
Roger Scott Alderman has been selected as Fire Rescue Chief for the Town of Kernersville.
Mr. Alderman has served as Deputy Fire Rescue Chief for Kernersville since July 2017. Prior to serving as Deputy Fire Rescue Chief, Mr. Alderman served as the Chief of the Lewisville Fire Department (2002-2017). He has served as Assistant Fire Marshal for Forsyth County Fire Department (1997-2002) and started his career at Kernersville Fire Department (1992-1997).
Chief Alderman holds a B.S. degree in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and an A.A.S. degree in Fire Protection Technology from Guilford Technical Community College. Chief Alderman also has obtained his Executive Fire Officer designation from the United States Fire Administration.
This full-time position became vacant as a result of Fire Chief Chris Langham’s retirement. Chief Alderman will begin his duties as Fire Rescue Chief on Thursday, July 18, 2019.
Chief Alderman was one of four finalist (out of twenty applicants) that went through an assessment process consisting of four different assessment centers and fourteen assesors. The assessment centers are designed to test the candidates in all areas of the job and give a more in-depth evaluation of the cadidates.
