The 2026 Fire Service Legislative Day was a tremendous success last week, bringing together more than 200 members of North Carolina’s fire service to engage with state lawmakers and advocate for issues important to our communities and first responders.
We were honored to hear remarks from four members of the North Carolina General Assembly:
• Senator Warren Daniel
• Senator Tim Moffit
• Representative Paul Scott
• Representative Neal Jackson
Also in attendance was Sam Watts, Executive Director of the Retirement System Division for the Department of State Treasurer, and we appreciated the opportunity to have him join us.

The strong turnout and engagement from across the state sent a powerful message about the importance of supporting North Carolina’s fire service. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success.
