Senator Tom Apodaca Recognized by Fire Service
Henderson County, NC, November 18, 2014: Senator Tom Apodaca was recognized Tuesday night at the quarterly meeting of the Henderson County Fire Chiefs. Representatives from Buncombe, Henderson, and Transylvania County fire departments, as well as Representatives from the NC State Firemen’s Association and NC Association of Fire Chiefs were there to join in the presentation. During the 2013-2014 session of the General Assembly four major statewide fire service programs that provide benefits for firefighters and fire departments were studied by the General Assembly. Senator Apodaca was recognized for his support during the study period and resulting legislation in maintaining necessary provisions for the State’s fire service and firefighters. It was also noted that Senator Apodaca has been a longtime supporter of the fire service throughout his career. Senator Apodaca was presented a plaque which included a replica helmet insignia bearing the image of the General Assembly. State Representative Julia Howard Recognized by Fire Service
Davie County, NC, October 27, 2014: State House Representative Julia Howard was recognized Monday night by the local and state Fire Service at a dinner meeting held at the beautiful WinMock at Kinderton in Davie Counties Bermuda Run. Representatives from Davie and Forsyth County fire departments, as well as Representatives from the NC State Firemen’s Association and NC Association of Fire Chiefs were there to join in the presentation. During the 2013-2014 session of the General Assembly four major statewide fire service programs that provide benefits for firefighters and fire departments were studied by the General Assembly. Representative Howard was recognized for her support during the study period and resulting legislation in maintaining necessary provisions for the State’s fire service and firefighters. Representatives from Cleveland and Burke County fire departments, as well as Representatives from the NC State Firemen’s Association and NC Association of Fire Chiefs were there to join in the presentation. During the 2013-2014 session of the General Assembly four major statewide fire service programs that provide benefits for firefighters and fire departments were studied by the General Assembly. Senator Daniel was recognized for his support during the study period and resulting legislation in maintaining necessary provisions for the State’s fire service and firefighters.
