Relief Fund Reporting and Financial Statement Submission Period Is Open
This notice serves as a reminder that the annual North Carolina State Firefighters’ Association relief fund reporting period opened on July 1, 2023 and closes at mid-night on October 31, 2023.
The Treasurer’s reporting requirements include completing and submitting the 2023 relief fund financial report. The report must include all financial activities that occurred in your relief fund account(s) from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. The relief fund Treasurer must submit the report even if no financial activity occurred in the relief fund account(s).
In addition, the relief fund Treasurer must submit all bank statements and financial reports that pertain to the relief fund for the same reporting period, as indicated above, by October 31, 2023.
The financial reporting is required by NC General Statutes that govern the operation and reporting of your relief fund.
Failure to meet the relief fund reporting requirements will cause your fire department to lose your Department of Insurance relief fund allocation and distribution of funds in 2024.
