We are seeking inspired and highly motivated individuals to fill Fire Lieutenant -EMT positions. Applicants should meet the MINIMUM requirements at the time of application.
Stoney Point is a full service combination Fire, Rescue and EMS Internationally Accredited organization responding to over 1500 incidents annually within the City of Fayetteville, Hope Mills, Cumberland and surrounding counties. The Fire Chief along with a Deputy Fire Chief, two Assistant Chiefs and a Division Chief oversee the day to day operations pursuant to the policies and directives adopted by the Board of Directors.
The purpose of the Fire Lieutenant-EMT positions is to protect lives and property within our response area and surrounding region as dispatched. An employee in this class supervises and participates in the 24-hour operations of fire suppression and related duties. The Lieutenant in the absence of the Captain serves as the shift Captain. The Lieutenant is subject to response callback, assists with coordination of maintenance of department assets and completes fire reports. Other duties include coordinating various assigned projects for the department. Just as the Captain the Lieutenant must stay abreast of state-of-the-art fire and rescue procedures, techniques, equipment, and incorporate the necessary changes into in-service training. Considerable independence, judgement, and ability to make effective decisions under pressure are required in all aspects of work, particularly in directing staff in fire calls. The employee is subject to the hazards associated with firefighting and rescue work including working in hazardous environments, working at heights, in extreme hot and cold temperatures, loud noise, vibration, moving parts, electrical current, high heat, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, oils, wearing respirators, and working in close quarters. MUST work and train with volunteer members including direct supervision of volunteers in the absence of volunteer officers. Must maintain all associated training requirements and that of assigned personnel. Maintain personal physical fitness and that of assigned shift personnel. This position is also subject to the final OSHA standards on blood borne pathogens. Attends all required officer and monthly department membership meetings, only when scheduled for shift on the following day. Performs all other duties assigned by Chief Officers and the Fire Chief.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirements for the position of Lieutenant-EMT are:
10.Acceptable Driving Record with a Valid “Class B” Driver’s License required
and with the ability to obtain a Class “B” Driver’s License within a given
11.Child Passenger Safety Seat Technician Certification preferred or must be
obtained within one year from date of hire.
12.Progressive Experience as Engineer
13.Hepatitis “B” Vaccination
14. Successfully complete a Firefighter Medical Assessment IAW NFPA 1582

DMV driving history report, current criminal background check from the county of residence and proof that an ID Federal Identity History Summary Check (IdHSC) has been applied for. Applicants must be willing to undergo a drug screen, hepatitis series vaccinations and a NFPA 1582 firefighter medical assessment provided by the Fire Department.
Applicants will also be expected to participate in physical agility tests, and oral interviews.

The annual base pay for the listed positions is $ 39,000 (annual base pay does not include any time worked beyond normally scheduled shifts and holiday pay)
